Meet our most popular & versatile pillow: The Woolly “Down” Bed Pillow.
The tiny wool puffs are similar to down feathers in the sense that you can move the filling around to be any shape you desire. The wool puffs have more substance than down and can take a shape and hold it...until you want it to move it around to a different shape.
This pillow won’t compress as much as regular wool batting pillows tend to do, plus it is easier to wash and care for than our other wool products. Bonus!
We designed this with a zippered cover for added versatility. With it you can easily add more puffs or take some out if it is too thick.
This is a medium-filled pillow. If you like a thicker pillow, we sell bags of additional puffs available in 3 and 6 ounce increments to customers who purchase this pillow or have in the past. Simply unzip & and add it in.
Clearance Issues Defined:
Small Fabric Defect- Any slight imperfection in the fabric. It could be in the weave or a spot. These are usually tiny and barely noticeable. The other issue is a prototype with nothing different other than it's made with a beautiful organic damask stripe fabric.
Off Cut 1"- Fabric dimensions that are slightly different than our regular products by 1", perhaps overstock for a custom order or by mistake!
What Creates a Clearance Item?
Qualifying elements to get on the clearance list include: small fabric defects, stitching irregularities, prototypes, last season’s color/s, overstock and discontinued items.
You’ll be pleased to discover that all of the issues are cosmetic only. Consider, many defects will actually be hidden inside of a cover, so won’t be noticeable at all, depending on the product you purchase.

Irregularities and defects are cosmetic only, often covered or cased
Items may be discontinued, seconds or accidental overstock
Clearance items are sold as-is and are non-returnable/non-refundable

Definitions of Wool Types:
For the specific wool type that this product uses please refer to "Product Overview".
Premium Eco-Wool© (PEW) - Our famous blend sourced directly from about 20 family farms in Oregon & California, USA. It’s the nicest wool we have ever seen- incredibly clean, dust free and virtually vegetable matter free. Growers participate in our Sustainable Wool Program, managing their flocks in a humane, chemical-free, and environmentally thoughtful manner. The vast majority of our products are built with this wool.
Organic Wool - When we cannot find a wool product in the PEW© blend we source 100% organic wool. This is used in our Woolley "Down" Pillows, Moisture Barrier and Puddle Pad products. It’s grown in Australia, then milled in the USA.
Eco Wool© - A blend of wool still from our Sustainable Wool Program, but sourced from a different wool pool than the PEW©. We are able to obtain it at a lower price point which we pass onto you in savings. So, in a nutshell, the quality of the Eco-Wool© is slightly less than our top of the line PEW© blend and allows us to pass a savings on to you, our customers.
America's Wool - A blend of wool still from our Sustainable Wool Program, but again it is sourced from a different wool pool than than the PEW©. Quality is slightly less than our Eco-Wool©.
World Class Wool - We brought in 1 roll of this to see what it was like. Though it’s not part of the Sustainable Wool Program, it does not have any chemicals, nor were pesticides & herbicides weren’t used for the pastured sheep. This wool is from family farms in South America, Australia, New Zealand and Europe. Clean and dust-free, this is what most of the wool bedding industry uses. Less expensive so sold at a greater discount. Limited quantity.

Natural wool is a timeless option for bedding. It’s actually been used for centuries. Our grandmothers knew the many benefits that wool provides, now you do too.
Why Is Wool Bedding So Great?
Wool is the most breathable filling material available, making it both cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It actually helps to regulate your body temperature.
Wool is a natural material; something grown, not made in a lab. Your body knows the difference. Wool surpasses synthetic fill in terms of quality and durability.
Dust Mite Resistant
Wool is a great choice if dust mites bug you or if you’re allergic. Dust mites can't live in wool due to microscopic bristles on the wool fibers.
Anti-Microbial & Anti-Bacterial
Amazingly, wool resists bacteria. It’s actually both antimicrobial and antibacterial.
Naturally Fire Resistant
Wool is fire resistant, providing a safe sleeping environment. Wool does not catch on fire and actually acts as a natural fire retardant.
A Renewable Resource, From Sheep
Unlike bedding that uses plucked down feathers, a sheep grows a coat of wool annually and is not harmed during shearing (it’s like getting a haircut).
Supports Small Farms And Farmers
Wool is a sustainable product and helps small farmers make a living.
Sustainable And Lasting
With proper care, your woollen bedding can last for decades.
It Stays In Place In Your Bedding
Wool batting, being one continuous piece, stays in place in our products and is hand-tufted to further secure it. This is unlike down bedding which shifts over time and creates bare spots in a comforter.
Certifications & Testing

Green America is a national, non-profit founded in 1982. (They went by the name "Co-op America" until 2009). America's Green Business Certification ensures companies operate according to a “values-based” social enterprise according to principles of social justice and environmental sustainability. In addition, certified businesses must be environmentally responsible in the way they run their operations and facilities, and in how they source raw materials, manufacture products, and market them. The Gold certification is completed by the Green America Standards Committee through an independent review.

IAOS's role is as an independent technical expert. It verifies correct application of the standard and the requirements for certification.
All COTTON used at Holy Lamb Organics is IOAS certified.
Eco Wool is produced to the highest standards on local American farms; some of these standards are beyond those specified for organic materials. Eco Wool is not certified organic. At this time very little organic wool is available on the market; almost no organic wool is grown in the United States.
We have access to organic wool from New Zealand that is pure and clean, though due to it being only one type of wool, it doesn’t offer the kind of resilience or bounce that our Premium Eco Wool™ does. Our Eco Wool is a blend of about 7 different types of wool varying from fine to coarse in order to create the most ideal wool fiber for use in bedding.
Our WOOL is Premium Eco-Wool™ .
