This mattress is super firm. If you like that, get it. I have had this mattress for a month now and let me tell you I have never ever had so much pain in my hips and back!! It’s like sleeping on concrete. My whole body aches every morning and is stiff. I toss and turn all night. According to my Oura ring I am getting the worst sleep in years. Most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever purchased. So upset over all the money I payed for this bed, the ultimate topper and four pillows.

Really nice mattress!

We're very happy with our new wool mattress, which we've been sleeping on for a week or two now. You'll find it firm if you're used to a spring or foam mattress, but you'll be surprised how comfortable that is. We have it on a slat bed (and not the springy kind) and it's plenty of cushion. The outer material and craftsmanship seem to be high-quality.

Bad Back

I've had this mattress a couple months. I give the material and how it was made an A+. It really is organic but not so organic that its going to fall apart or attract bugs. It smelled like a sheep that had a bath when it arrived. Not like chemical shampoo or sprays. But I work on a farm and I'm 36yrs old with a sore lower back. I can't even carry around 25% of my weight anymore without having pain for the next 2 days. So I have to use pulleys and leverage to move things or wheels. I knew the bed would be an adjustment since my old bed was a pillow top mattress. When it arrived, it looked just like the picture and bent right around the corner of my hallway to get it into my bedroom. It looked really soft. But it is actually really firm. The wool is tightly packed and needs to be in order for the mattress to keep its shape. First 3 nights I had no sleep unless I slept flat on my back like I was laying on my living room floor. I woke up in 3hrs with a stiff burning lower back. So then I stacked 2 organic feather comforters on top and had to put a foam pad under those because the feathers were going flat. I live on the east coast and there's no market for authentic organic mattresses here, only immitations of organic products, so I kept the mattress. But I did buy a mattress topper and still use the feather top comforter to lay on.

Lovely in every way

This purchase made my year! Excitedly looking forward to and awaiting its arrival was exhilarating. I am really very happy and grateful for this bed. It is comfortable, flawlessly sized, pleasing to the eye and luxuriously feeling on the body. I personally love the smell of animal and was very hopeful this would smell as my wool comforter (not purchased from holy lamb) did, but alas it didn't. I expect I am one of the few that enjoys that. However they do it, you can be sure there's no smell. Another pleasing thing about this bed is its portability, having purchased the twin I could easily take it with me for a sleepover or stargazing. The stitching and materials are well done and durable.

A little about my bed journey. I had a tempur pedic when they first came out, this was not enjoyable because of how hot I sleep. Then I began a long battle with ovarian cancer and developed an allergy to latex. The next bed was a sand bed (like a water bed, except all natural materials and filled with sand). This was very yummy for me, however a mold issue made this bed super high maintenance; that I could not sustain. Next, I stacked rugs and blankets to form a bed and slept on that. When I began using my wool comforter as part of this "bed" I realized it felt incredible to sleep atop, my body craved and felt nourished on the nights I slept atop my comforter rather than under it. This led me to look at wool beds. Here we are! I am very, very pleased with this bed and as someone with a disease that at times keeps me bedridden this bed by holy lamb organics has in a way nourished and "filled my cup". I love my bed! Thank you! - westina

too thin and smelly

I love sleeping on all wool. The matress I chose turns out to be rather thin and very firm. I can feel the ties. There is an unpleasant odor. I adjusted to the firmness in just a couple days and I expect the smell to fade. Should have gotten thicker depth.
