Take a running start toward your softest bed ever. You get deeper sleep, better rest with this Dunlop latex topper.
Create a softer, more natural sleeping surface. A latex topper makes the difference.
If you already own a synthetic mattress, you may know that fire retardant chemicals are used to meet national fire safety regulations. These chemicals are used on cotton futons as well. An all-natural topper is a good choice to provide a barrier between you and your synthetic mattress while you sleep.
Studies have shown that your heart rate is lowered when you sleep on a natural surface, resulting in a deeper sleep. Toppers are great for not only creating a natural sleeping surface, but for softening a bed. If your bed is harder than you’d like, then a latex topper is a great choice. The thicker it is, the more softness it provides. Our topper is rated an ILD of 25 or "soft".
Of all the types of latex on the market, these toppers (and our latex mattresses) are made using the most pure latex process called "Dunlop." No synthetics are added to make this latex and it’s finished with a super soft, yet durable, organic cotton encasement. If you trying to soften up a hard bed, a latex topper will make the difference.
The topper cover is not washable. We recommend purchasing a pre-wash cover if you wish to have a washable cover. Additional charges and lead time apply to this pre-wash option.
* Shipping: Please allow approximately 2-4 weeks for a latex topper delivery.
Did you know that true latex comes from the sap of rubber trees? It actually undergoes a process to transform it into a squishy foam. The latex we use is the pure and natural Dunlop latex process (vs the Talalay, which uses unspecified curing agents and oftentimes ammonia to stabilize the liquid rubber). Learn more about the Dunlop Latex Process.
- Latex is produced from the sap of rubber trees
- Natural Dunlop latex process involves steaming and shaping
- Certified in accordance with Oeko-Tex 100
- Sourced and processed in Sri Lanka

We are committed to using only the highest quality natural materials, sourced as locally as possible.
We also believe in being transparent about our raw materials. See our certifications.

How to Choose
Mattress ToppersHow do I choose a mattress topper? It will depend on the goal you have in mind for using a topper.
- When the goal of adding a topper to your bed is to create a natural sleeping surface, then all of our toppers will work for that purpose.
- When the goal is to create a breathable surface for your body, our wool toppers are more breathable than latex toppers.
- When the goal is to create more cushion (or softness to your bed) then you'll need to determine just how much cushion you would like.
- For maximum cushion try our latex toppers, next try the Quilted Wool Ultimate,
- For slightly less cushion try the Quilted Wool Deep Sleep or the Happy Lamb Fleece.
- People who are in bed for a long periods of time or who have fibromyalgia greatly benefit from the Happy Lamb Fleece’s ability to relieve pressure points.
What is the thickness of the Mattress Toppers, Deep Sleep and Ultimate?
It’s very challenging to talk about a soft and squishy product in terms of inches. It’s much more accurate to compare products using their total wool weight (see Product Specs tab to compare product weights).
However, it can be helpful to know approximate heights for products.
Deep Sleep topper is approximately 1.5-2” thick
Ultimate topper has a loft of about 2.5-3” thick
A sample kit may help. Try our Mattress Topper Sample Kit available for $15.00, which may help you make a decision on which topper is right for you. If you end up ordering a topper, the cost of the sample is subtracted from your order resulting in a free sample. We also have wool comforter samples as well.
Another option is to find a store in your area that carries the Holy Lamb Organics line of Wool Mattress Toppers.

Natural wool is a timeless option for bedding. It’s actually been used for centuries. Our grandmothers knew the many benefits that wool provides, now you do too.
Why Is Wool Bedding So Great?
Wool is the most breathable filling material available, making it both cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It actually helps to regulate your body temperature.
Wool is a natural material; something grown, not made in a lab. Your body knows the difference. Wool surpasses synthetic fill in terms of quality and durability.
Dust Mite Resistant
Wool is a great choice if dust mites bug you or if you’re allergic. Dust mites can't live in wool due to microscopic bristles on the wool fibers.
Anti-Microbial & Anti-Bacterial
Amazingly, wool resists bacteria. It’s actually both antimicrobial and antibacterial.
Naturally Fire Resistant
Wool is fire resistant, providing a safe sleeping environment. Wool does not catch on fire and actually acts as a natural fire retardant.
A Renewable Resource, From Sheep
Unlike bedding that uses plucked down feathers, a sheep grows a coat of wool annually and is not harmed during shearing (it’s like getting a haircut).
Supports Small Farms And Farmers
Wool is a sustainable product and helps small farmers make a living.
Sustainable And Lasting
With proper care, your woollen bedding can last for decades.
It Stays In Place In Your Bedding
Wool batting, being one continuous piece, stays in place in our products and is hand-tufted to further secure it. This is unlike down bedding which shifts over time and creates bare spots in a comforter.
Certifications & Testing
Green America - Gold Certified Business since 2007
Green America is a national, non-profit founded in 1982. (They went by the name "Co-op America" until 2009). America's Green Business Certification ensures companies operate according to a “values-based” social enterprise according to principles of social justice and environmental sustainability. In addition, certified businesses must be environmentally responsible in the way they run their operations and facilities, and in how they source raw materials, manufacture products, and market them. The Gold certification is completed by the Green America Standards Committee through an independent review.
Holy Lamb Organics holds the Gold Certification
The IOAS is a non-profit certification organization dedicated to the integrity of eco label claims in the field of organic and sustainable agriculture, environmental management, social justice and fair trade.
They work internationally to assess the competence of organizations providing certification to "sustainability" standards, meaning producers can work in a fair environment and consumers can trust the products bearing these labels and the company's contribution to a more sustainable and fairer world.
IAOS's role is as an independent technical expert. It verifies correct application of the standard and the requirements for certification.
All COTTON used at Holy Lamb Organics is IOAS certified.
Eco Wool is produced to the highest standards on local American farms; some of these standards are beyond those specified for organic materials. Eco Wool is not certified organic. At this time very little organic wool is available on the market; almost no organic wool is grown in the United States.
We have access to organic wool from New Zealand that is pure and clean, though due to it being only one type of wool, it doesn’t offer the kind of resilience or bounce that our Premium Eco Wool™ does. Our Eco Wool is a blend of about 7 different types of wool varying from fine to coarse in order to create the most ideal wool fiber for use in bedding.
Our WOOL is Premium Eco-Wool™ .

FSC operates in more than 80 countries, wherever forests are present.
Raw materials holding FSC certification:
UC Davis Toxicology Lab Tested
All of the wool batting as well as moisture barrier fabric and wool blanket fabric that we use in manufacturing is tested for heavy metals through fiber sample analysis.
The official report indicates: "No toxic compounds were detected....Growers and ranchers raise sheep relative to organic standards (do not use herbicides, pesticides or growth hormones)."
Though not required by law, our mill has these materials tested anyways to provide you with the assurance as to the quality of our raw materials.
Element Materials Technology Tested
All materials at Holy Lamb Organics that have a "next to skin" use are run through a voluntary Phthalates test (Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act CPSIA of 2008). This test is required by law and provides an extra assurance as to the quality of our natural materials.
All of our toppers and mattresses are required to meet the cigarette burn test 1633. Our verification is printed on all of our sewn-in product labels: "This Product Complies with the Federal Flammability Standard 16 CFR part 1632".
Mattress Topper Care
Toppers Twin- King are too big to fit in most machines and are also not constructed with specific techniques that enable washing. Spot clean this item instead. Crib size can be washed following our specific washing instructions.
To protect your topper we recommend our Moisture Barriers or Puddle Pads. This thin felted layer of barrier wool lays flat and is secured in place by the fitted sheet which goes over the top. An excellent natural way to protect your investment from the inevitable spills that happen in life!
We recommend that you do not wash the Happy Lamb Fleece for the initial 6 months or so until all of the vertical wool layers have a chance to become uniform and slightly felt from the weight and heat of your body. After that uniformity is reached (you will know) and it will be safe to wash using our specific washing instructions provided with your product.
FOR ALL OUR PRODUCTS:
Unmake Your Bed
One of the best things you can do is unmake your bed in the morning for a few hours, allowing the moisture you gave off during the night to evaporate from the wool bedding.
Sunning Your Bedding
Placing your wool bedding in the sun a few times per year is an excellent way to refresh and cleanse your bedding using the benefits of the sun. Sunning will naturally deodorize, bleach, disinfect, and revitalize your bedding.
Protection Is Key
Protect your wool bedding by placing it inside an appropriate cotton cover that can be washed regularly and act as a barrier for your bedding during everyday use.
- Place a comforter inside a duvet cover
- Put your pillow inside a zippered pillow cover and then into a pillow case
- For mattress toppers, use a moisture barrier and then a fitted sheet
Do I need to wash my bedding before I use it?
No, your wool bedding is ready to use. There’s no need to wash it unless it’s your preference. There are no chemicals located in our production facility, no animals on-site, no finishes used on the fabric and we maintain a Scent Free facility.
Can my bedding be washed & how?
Most of our wool bedding can be washed using our special washing instructions provided with your purchase. If you need a copy of the washing instructions please Contact Us and we’ll email it to you as soon as possible.
In case of emergency:
- Gently spot clean the affected area.
- Set aside to later wash the entire product once you have received the washing instructions.
- You can also treat the problem area with live cultured enzymes which eliminate odors. (i.e. Biokleen makes a product called Bac Out.) These enzyme products can be found at your local health food store/ co-op.
- If you need another copy of the washing instructions, please contact us.
Can I take it to a dry cleaner?
We do not recommend dry cleaning unless it is taken to a certified "green" dry cleaner. Regular dry cleaners use chemicals to clean, defeating the purpose of having a natural bedding product.
